Five Admirers of the School's Favorite

Very early puzzle, solid wood, push fit, color line cut by unknown maker.  Also has the title "Say It with Flowers".  I like the period clothes on the boys, especially the "knickers".  I wore a pair of knickers in elementary school and was very proud of them.  Artist is John George Brown (1831 – 1913), a British citizen and an American painter who specialized in genre scenes. Picture copy is from Harpers Young People (old children's magazine) 1884.
