Mr. Pickwick

Catalog Code:
P- 578
Description:

Parker Brothers/Pastime, Boston, MA, made in 1929. Plywood, interlocking, cut along color lines with 12 figure pieces by cutter #1. Uncharacteristic and unfavorable portrayal of Mr. Pickwick by unknown artist in Ch. 19 where he becomes drunk after a picnic lunch at Dingley Dell.  Because of infirmities he was wheeled to the lunch spot in a wheel barrel (depicted in back of him).  And after falling asleep, the disagreeable neighbor had him wheeled to the local pound where he awoke with a crowd of people laughing at him!
