Cut by Charles Russell, Auburn, MA in the 1960/70's (but not commissioned by us), interlocking, color line cut with 33 figure pieces. Artist is Melbourne Brindle. Usually, artwork on replacement pieces is "extrapolated" from the area surrounding the missing piece and from the puzzle in general. Only rarely, do I have a picture or puzzle with the identical scene to follow. Two of the pieces missing in this puzzle composed the signs over one of the store windows on the right announcing what the stores sold. I could not resist the temptation to make them read "Games" and "Puzzles"! Shall we call this "restorer's liberty"?
