Sitting on Top of the World

Catalog Code:
2- 215
Description:

Another family puzzle I grew up with and enjoyed as a scout because of wonderful scene by Hy Hintermeister and the thinner cut resulting in longer arms and more elegant pieces, typical of the earlier Madmar puzzles. Also typical of Madmar puzzles is the papered back and the absence of figure pieces and color line cutting. Madmar Co. made children's and adult wood puzzles in Utica, NY from the 1920s to the 1960s using such brand names as Blue Ribbon, Interlox and Mayfair for their adult lines. They stackcut their puzzles, four at a time, but because they also filed their blades making them thinner, Madmar puzzles usually are too loose.
