Summer's Glory

Catalog Code:
2- 2890
Description:

Falls puzzle made by the Jones family, Cleveland Heights, OH, plywood, interlocking, 112 figure pieces (1:4 ratio to total puzzle pieces) including their signature piece of a woman falling on her backside in the lower right corner and many candlesticks as “filler” figure pieces. Anne Williams has documented in her books how Mr. John Paul Jones made rubber stamps for each figure piece and stamped the back of the puzzle wood, Mrs. Mary Belle Jones then cut the puzzle upside down using a very delicate and intricate knob style between figures.  Purportedly, their children sanded off the ink marks on the back and did the counting and packing (questionable). A remarkable family venture which lasted into the 1940's.
