Description:

Including "WELCOME".  Another very well cut puzzle by Walter Bemis, Northborough, MA in the 1930's.  Very busy scene but presents a challenge putting together all the little scenes of the welcome home celebrations at the end of WW II.  My father "returned home" from action over seas in both world wars (France 1918; N. Africa, Sicily, Italy1942-45).  Of course, I did not exist in 1918, and I was a "little boy" kept at home when my father returned from WW II with "Battle fatigue" (PTSD today).
Artist is Walter Harrison Cady, an American illustrator and author, best known for his Peter Rabbit comic strip which he wrote and drew for 28 years. Wikipedia.  He painted numerous scenes like this one with much attention to detail.
