Made in the 1930's by Tuck & Sons, London, England as D.16 in their Dickens Coaching Zag-Zaw series. Plywood, interlocking, 20 figure pieces.    The Pickwickians are arriving in the midst of a hotly contested election between Fizkin and Slumkey for a seat in Parliament. Ch. 13, Dickens' Pickwick Papers.  Artist: Albert Ludovici, Jr. (1852-1932). Following the profession of his father, Albert Sr., Albert, Jr. spent his life between the cities of Paris and London, painting scenes of society at leisure. His genre paintings were found to be most popular, but he also painted a succession of landscapes and interior scenes, in both watercolor and gouache as well as the more prominent oil.  Askart.com.  He loved stories of the old days of coaching in England and his series of paintings of scenes from the novels of Charles Dickens were most popular.
