Notre-Dame et le pont de la tournelle

Catalog Code:
5- 5219
Description:

French cut puzzle ("M").  Translation of printing on puzzle bottom by my French speaking friend, Alan Engborg:: "Another detailed view of Paris from Notre Dame as far as the Pont de la Tournell (Tournelle bridge) where one sees in the distance l"Hotel de Ville (City Hall), St. Jean en Greve, (church of St. Jean en Greve destroyed 1797-1800) St. Gervais (church of St. Gervais) and the Pont Rouge (red bridge).  (view): Taken from the Quai de Miramion (River bank of M)."
Interestingly, St. Jean en Greve  no longer existed after 1800, so engraving upon which this print is based must have predated the end of the 18th century.
