An Open Air Dance in France

Catalog Code:
P- 0712
Description:

Hard to believe members of the nobility would be dancing in front of peasants on a farm in 18th. century France. Still, a gorgeous scene by Rossi (1908). Well made, very large puzzle (600 pcs.) by Parker Brothers, Salem, MA circa 1914. Plywood, semi-interlocking, cut along color lines with 37 figure pieces.  Google brings up a site describing dances along the Seine a 100 years ago called guinguetes, but not quite in point with this scene.    https://www.latimes.com/world/la-xpm-2011-jun-28-la-fg-france-guinguettes-20110629-story.html
