VG puzzle made by Virginia & George Locke, Coronado, CA 1960's.  Very well made with 16 excellent, mostly appropriate figure pieces, including their signature piece VG.  Artist is Alan Thom (1915 – 1979), an American illustrator who specialized in the portrayal of historical scenes for commercial patrons. He is perhaps best known for his series of 40 paintings depicting the history of pharmacy, and his series of 45 paintings depicting the history of medicine, both commissioned by Parke-Davis.  This very colorful scene is a print of one of his pharmaceutical paintings depicting one of the earliest pharmacies around 754 AD.  Picture also titled: "The First Apothecary Shop".  No repairs needed.
