Description:

Some puzzle cutters exhibited considerable ingenuity in making their puzzles. Here, Bates & Paine, Newport, VT cut a separate puzzle within the larger puzzle (using occasional knobs to interlock the two), then cut the smaller puzzle into four triangles with two diagonal cuts between corners, and finally, cut the symbol of the four Bridge suits into each triangle (spade, heart, diamond, club). Probably, Barnes & Paine was hoping to market this puzzle to Bridge players who might enjoy puzzles.
