The Tracker Tracked

Catalog Code:
P- 0468
Description:

Pastime puzzle cut by #131.  Interlocking, cut along color lines with 18 figure pieces.  Very unusual with 2 pictures side-by-side telling a comical story of a cave man hunter being tracked by the very dinosaur he thinks he is tracking.  Artist is Lawson Wood, sometimes Clarence Lawson Wood, (1878 – 1957), an English painter, illustrator and designer well known for humorous depictions of cavemen and dinosaurs, policemen, and animals, and especially a chimpanzee called Gran'pop.  His annuals circulated around the world. Wood was decorated by the French for his gallantry at Vimy Ridge during World War I.  Just to have survived that battle is remarkable.
