A Wedding Feast in Brittany

Catalog Code:
1- 1921
Description:

Another Puzzle for Grown Ups and Shut Ins cut by Mrs. W.W. Dunnell, E. Greenwich, RI.  Semi-interlocking, and cut along color lines.  Artist is unknown.  Puzzle comes in 2 boxes.  From the kerf, I believe Mrs. Dunnell was using a treadle scroll saw.  I have such a saw from the 1980's but simply cannot coordinate my hands and feet well enough to cut even the simplest of puzzles!  I speculate that women who learned to operate their mother's treadle sewing machines were able to make the transition to treadle scroll saws and dominated puzzle making in the 1909 era.
