This little gem was sold through The Ayer Shop, Boston, MA, operated by Isabel Ayer, one of the leading puzzle makers in the Boston area during the 1908-1930 period. The poem on the puzzle, partly in the form of a rebus, reads, "When Santa comes to my house with presents and candy, too, I'll leave a note for him and Santa will visit you."  Stave Puzzles and other modern makers have used rebuses in many of their puzzles.
