An Acceptable Suitor

Catalog Code:
P- 0182
Description:

When acquired this very large puzzle had many broken bits and pieces of paper in its box. Unfortunately, they were thrown out by the person who assembled it for us, leaving me to do the restoration "from scratch". Never ever throw away broken or split knobs and pieces of paper from knobs!  With patience, almost anything can be glued back together.  Puzzle was cut in the 1910/20's period, with extensive color line cutting and 90 figure pieces.  Artist is Lajos "Louis" Jámbor (1884 – 1954), a Hungarian-American post-impressionist painter, illustrator and background artist for animation. He is known for his illustrations for the book Little Women (1947 edition), and his symbolic and religious artwork found murals and as decoration in churches. He also created portraits for New York society. Wikipedia.   The print used for this puzzle has excellent colors making my job even harder..
