Very large (795 pcs.) Double L puzzle made by husband and wife team, Swift & Katharine Lord, Evanston, IL 1930's. Plywood, interlocking, tight cut, 58 very well done figure pieces. According to their descendants, Swift actually did the cutting, and Katharine Lord did the artwork for many of their puzzles. Very colorful scene and some of the elements of the scene look hand painted. Note the rain drops starting to fall and the waters lapping at the bottom edge. We also think Katharine designed the figure pieces as she managed an art academy in Evanston at the time. Truly, a family enterprise!
