Pride of Capture

Catalog Code:
2- 02221
Description:

Boxed in a wood box with a sliding lid and sold through Macy's, but we don't know who did the cutting.  Some of their puzzles were cut by Pastime cutters.  Interlocking, cut along color lines with 43 figure pieces.  Picture displays aesthetically pleasing curl knob cutting style well because of dark background.  Artist is Frank M. Bennett (1874–1952), a British painter of portraits, historical scenes and architecture. He was known for his posthumous portraits, particularly of soldiers killed during the First World War, which were commissioned by grieving relatives as a remembrance of their sons and husbands.  Art date is 1929.
