In Golden Hunting Grounds

Joseph Straus, Brooklyn, NY cut this puzzle for F.A.O. Schwartz, NYC in the 1950/60s.  Interlocking, well cut with round knobs and 10 figure pieces.  Artist is Hy HIntermeister (1897-1970).  Henry Hintermeister was a painter and illustrator who painted in the Golden Age of Illustration under the signature Hy Hintermeister. He painted as team with his father, John Henry Hintermeister, and together they created more than 1000 works. Wikipedia  The man in the dark shirt is firing at a moose while his companion in the red shirt controls their canoe.  That is not an easy shot, and I fear the moose may be wounded and run off to suffer.
